Acetate prints

I decided that I needed to experiment by printing onto a different surface to see how the paint would react. I thought it would e interesting to print onto acetate, to those of you who don’t know what that is it’s a transparent clear plastic. I continued to use watered down acrylic so that it would have an translucent quality to it, the result was really interesting. The prints from the cloth came out like x-rays they had a bodily feel to them, as if they were scans of an internal organ.

The acetate completely changed the feel of the prints, previously from printing on the paper the paint and water would sink into the paper therefore some of the detail was lost, whereas with the acetate the paint and water dried on the surface therefore retaining a the original quality and delicate detail. They have become very atmospheric on the acetate, the blurry quality give this feeling.
