Sketchbook experiments

IMG_0333

Here are some examples of my sketchbook experiments. I use my sketchbook to get down any ideas that I have so that I can start to configure them into exterior pieces. I have been working with the notion of gesture and how the pencil navigates around the space of the page. The repetitive process continues through into this semesters work, I am interested in how this process builds up a surface texture on the page.  Furthermore, I have been using a variety pencils within each drawing to change the contrast and depth within the drawing, for example the softer pencils create a darker shade giving it depth whereas the harder pencils create more of a delicate tone of grey.
